RTA Competition Regulations v2026.06: Updated Seeding Rules
The RTA Competition Regulations v2026.06 have been released, introducing an important adjustment to the seeding system across the RTA Pickleball Tour.
The main change affects Section 4.1 – Seeding. RTA 52 Week Points remain the primary seeding criterion for RTA1000 and RTA2000 events, while RTA500 events continue to be seeded based on DUPR.
The previous system allowed players or teams without RTA points to enter the draw at seeds 5, 6, 13 or 14 based on their DUPR rating. With v2026.06, this mechanism has been replaced by a more precise set of DUPR-based seeding exceptions.
A player or team may now move into:
These exceptions are only applied when they improve the player’s or team’s seeding position.
The change is designed to maintain the importance of the RTA 52 Week Ranking, while giving particularly strong players and teams entering an RTA draw with comparatively few or no RTA points a more representative starting position.
The updated regulations also clarify that DUPR Mixed Doubles and age ratings are not considered. Event-specific Singles and Doubles ratings remain relevant, with Doubles ratings aggregated for Gender Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
The RTA Competition Regulations v2026.06 are effective immediately and apply to upcoming RTA events.
