(Hong Kong, 13 April 2026) With padel officially confirmed as a medal sport at the 2026 Asian Games, the local scene has reached a new milestone. The newly established Hong Kong China Padel Association (HKCPA)  has hosted the city’s first-ever official ranking tournament successfully. Supported by GO PARK Sai Sha and PADEL+ HK, the Hong Kong Padel Open 2026 took place from 9 to 12 April. The event served as an important benchmark for the national team selection process, drawing over 100 local competitors across Men’s, Women’s, and Junior categories. The four-day event featured over 60 hard-fought matches in total. The Men’s Final was honoured by the presence of Mr. George Tsoi, Commissioner for Sports, Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, who performed the coin toss to open the match. Aziz Khan and Sean Lo claimed the Men’s title in straight sets (6-2, 6-4), while Suki Law and Isabella Chan triumphed in the Women’s draw with a commanding straight-sets victory (6-1, 6-1) — both finals a testament to the rising competitive standard of local players and a landmark chapter in Hong Kong padel history. Tournament rankings will serve as a key reference for HKCPA team selection, with the selection knockout rounds scheduled for 25 to 26 April — opening the pathway for local players towards the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games and the international circuit.
